Ya hablamos de cómo prepararte para una entrevista y algunos consejos y herramientas para ayudarte a como desenvolverte durante la conversación. Ahora toca la tercera parte del proceso de entrevista: El cierre.
La mayoría de los aspirantes comete el error de pensar que el momento en que termina el proceso de entrevista es al despedirse del entrevistador, sin darse cuenta que con esto dejan el cierre en manos de la empresa. No caigas donde cae la mayoría y toma el control del proceso siendo tú quien le de cierre. Puedes tener una buena preparación y un buen desempeño, pero el cerrarla de manera apropiada va a mover tu entrevista de buena a excelente.
¿Quieres cerrar tu próxima entrevista con broche de oro? La clave está en ¡HACER SEGUIMIENTO!
Y con seguimiento no quiero decir que vas a preguntar cómo va o qué ha pasado con tu caso. Aquí lo importante es mostrar iniciativa, así que en tu próxima entrevista luego de terminar envía una nota de agradecimiento a los entrevistadores. Te aseguro que este pequeño gesto te va a dar una gran cantidad de puntos a tu favor.
La mejor forma de hacerlo: prepara un email agradeciendo a las personas que te entrevistaron por su tiempo y comunicándoles que disfrutaste la conversación que tuvieron durante la entrevista. Incluye los aspectos que más te gustaron o que te parecieron interesantes, bien sea sobre la posición a la que estás aplicando o sobre la empresa y el equipo donde estarías trabajando. Por ejemplo, si te gustó la cultura y misión de la empresa menciónalo en el email, o si mencionaron que en la empresa están usando una nueva técnica o están trabajando en una nueva tendencia del mercado comenta que te parece muy interesante que la estén implementando en esa área en particular. La idea es que muestres afinidad con la empresa y que vean tu perfil como un reflejo de la posición y la cultura de trabajo.
Es importante que no dejes pasar demasiado tiempo una vez que termines la entrevista para que tengas toda la información fresca. Para esto, apenas llegues a tu casa (o a donde llegues después de la entrevista) escribe todo lo que recuerdes: aspectos importantes de lo que conversaron, detalles sobre la empresa y la posición, preguntas que te hicieron y que tu hiciste. Una vez que tengas todo anotado prepara el email y cuando lo tengas listo revísalo para evitar que se escape cualquier detalle antes de enviarlo. Personalmente te recomiendo que lo envíes el mismo día de la entrevista, pero si prefieres pensar un poco más el email que vas a enviar hasta el día siguiente es válido. Lo importante es que no dejes pasar más de un día para enviar esa nota de agradecimiento.
Y lo más importante es que si no eres tú la persona que seleccionen ¡no te desanimes!. Esto no quiere decir que no sirves, que no eres suficientemente bueno o que no tienes lo que se requiere, sino que quizás haya un candidato que se ajuste mejor a la posición y a las necesidades de la empresa o que su experiencia sea más relevante. Si es ese el caso, toma la entrevista como un aprendizaje para mejorar tus habilidades y prepararte para entrevistas futuras. ¡Pero sigue buscando y no decaigas! Además, imagina que tú tienes una compañía y entrevistas a 10 personas para una posición, ¿no escogerías al mejor candidato?
Tú tienes la capacidad de lograr tus metas, solo tienes que trabajar por lo que quieres y creer en ti.
