Como hacer tus días mejores en tu trabajo y mejorar tu vida profesional

Todos estamos en distintos momentos y situaciones en nuestras carreras profesionales. Unos están en su comienzo, otros en su etapa de crecimiento y otros ya han logrado cosechar algunos logros e incluso alcanzar metas. A pesar de todas esas diferencias que podemos tener aquellos que han logrado tener una carrera exitosa, alcanzado sus metas y sentirse a gusto con sus logros tienen algo en común: siempre están en la búsqueda de cómo hacer las cosas mejor en su trabajo sin importar el cargo o el nivel donde estén.

Estoy seguro que tú, así como yo y muchísimas otras personas, quisieras que todos tus días estuviesen llenos de energía y ganas, pero no siempre son así. Y la verdad es imposible hacer que TODOS los días sean como uno quisiera, pues no todo lo que pasa está en nuestro control. Sin embargo, lo que si puedes controlar es trabajar para que la mayoría sean como uno quisiera que fuesen. Por eso en el artículo de esta semana quiero compartir contigo algunos consejos y hábitos que me han ayudado a mí (y muchas personas que he tenido la dicha de ayudar) a enfocar sus esfuerzos, para que tú también mejores tus días en el trabajo. Aquí te los dejo:

  • Planea tus días con antelación. Cuando planificas en que vas a invertir tu tiempo durante el día antes que comience evitarás que las sorpresas y situaciones inesperadas se apoderen de tu energía. Si comienzas el día sabiendo lo que tienes que hacer estarás por delante de la mayoría.
  • Ten tus prioridades claras. Saber cuales son tus prioridades para el día te ayuda no solo a invertir tu tiempo en lo que realmente importa, sino en aquellas actividades que te van a acercar a tus metas.
  • Escucha a los demás y siempre estar abierto a consejos. Si escuchas con atención lo que tus colegas tienen que decir te permitirá tener una perspectiva diferente a la tuya, abriéndote la posibilidad de ver las situaciones desde otro ángulo. Y si alguien comparte contigo un consejo o te da retroalimentación siempre ten la mentalidad de escuchar lo que tengan que decir, no sabes cuán valiosa es la retroalimentación cuando sabes escucharla.
  • Ten una mentalidad positiva. Si bien es cierto que hay días en que uno no está muy de ánimos, esta en ti tener un enfoque positivo en lo que haces y sobre todo en el porque lo estás haciendo. Si algo no te inspira reconsidera si deberías estar invirtiendo tu tiempo en esa actividad.
  • No te compares con los demás. El peor error que puedes cometer es compararte con las personas a tu alrededor. Recuerda que tu éxito lo mides tú.
  • Se un jugador de equipo. ¡El poder de un equipo que trabaja unido es increíble! Todas las personas exitosas han tenido siempre un equipo a su lado.
  • Aprende a decir que no. No todo lo que llega a ti en tu día a día requiere de tu atención -quizás esa reunión de la tarde no requiere de tu asistencia-. Si tú no respetas tu tiempo nadie lo hará.
  • Alinea con tu manager con regularidad. Estar en sintonía con tu jefe te ayuda a ti a entender el progreso de tus actividades y entender la dirección a seguir, y a tu jefe a entender cómo van tus proyectos (y así evitar que esté detrás de ti a todo momento). Si todos están en sintonía el equipo tendrá la dirección siempre clara.
  • Se sincero contigo mismo. Esto es lo más importante para poder sentirte bien y a gusto en tu trabajo. Tu eres el único que conoce en realidad y a fondo cuáles son tus fortalezas y tus áreas de mejora. ¿Cometiste un error? Admítelo sin culpar a los demás; ¿necesitas mejorar tus conocimientos en estadística? Pide un entrenamiento a tu manager. Si te engañas a ti mismo solo te haces daño a ti.

Incluye estos consejos en tu rutina y verás como tus días en el trabajo van a mejorar significativamente. El único responsable de tus días y como los llevas eres tú, así que no dejes que los días pasen sin ser tu quien lleva las riendas.
