Hoy en día estamos en una búsqueda constante de la aprobación de otros. La sociedad nos bombardea a diario con estereotipos de lo que significa ser feliz, sentirse bien y ser exitoso.
Dejamos que la sociedad nos dicte el camino, que debemos tener y que no, como es una relación de pareja. Y todo esa marea nos hace sentir inferiores, que no somos suficientemente buenos o que estamos demasiado lejos de la felicidad.
¿LA REALIDAD, O TU REALIDAD?
Si es verdad que a través de las redes sociales nos venden una idea de vida perfecta basada en qué y cuánto tenemos, donde vemos personas ‘felices’ con carros lujosos, mansiones inmensas y vacaciones en lugares paradisíacos. O que las películas nos venden que necesitamos a otra persona para poder tener una vida de pareja estable, con la típica frase ‘tú me completas’.
Pero no nos tomamos un momento para ver todo eso en perspectiva. Pasamos las fotos del Instagram en un piloto automático dejando que todo lo que vemos se almacene en nuestro subconsciente sin dan reparo en que significa para nosotros. Y es ahí donde nace el problema, donde sin darnos cuenta le damos permiso a la sociedad a influir en nuestro concepto de felicidad y la percepción de nuestra propia imagen.
Y no te culpes (del todo), el mundo de hoy tiene un ritmo frenético donde tenemos demasiada información y con tan poco tiempo para procesarla que no nos detenemos a realmente analizar en detalle todo lo que pasa a nuestro alrededor.
Estamos en una búsqueda de las cosas que nos van a hacer felices y de la persona que nos va a completar. Pero esa es una búsqueda que nunca termina. Y no porque no lo podemos encontrar, sino que no estamos buscando donde deberíamos hacerlo.
No es la casa que puedas tener sino el hogar que construyes en la que tienes. No son las vacaciones que no puedes tener sino el disfrutar al máximo la que si puedes. No es los ceros en tu cuenta de banco sino lo que puedes hacer con los ceros que tienes.
Y la realidad es que en el fondo somos nosotros mismos los que nos convencemos que no tenemos suficiente o que no somos buenos. Nuestro mayor error es pensar que somos personas incompletas y que necesitamos a alguien para poder sentirnos completos. No es la ‘información’ sino el cómo la interpretamos lo que nos afecta.
¿CÓMO CAMBIARLO?
A pesar de todo lo que pasa a nuestro alrededor, la clave para cambiarlo está en nuestra perspectiva. Y ese cambio comienza cuando entiendes que la respuesta no está afuera, ni en las cosas materiales que puedas tener. La respuesta está en ti, cuando entiendes que TÚ eres esa persona que siempre has buscado, que eres más especial de lo que crees ser y que no necesitas ‘reparación’ porque eres único. No necesitas a nadie que te complete, sino la persona que te complemente.
Pero lo más importante de todo, es que te ames a ti mismo. El amor propio es la llave para abrir la puerta de la felicidad. La base de cualquier relación está en el amor, y tu relación más importante, esa que llevas 24 horas 7 días a la semana, es contigo. Además, ¿cómo alguien puede amarte de verdad si no te amas tu primero?
¿Va a ser algo sencillo? No. ¿Te vas a sentir así todos los días? Probablemente habrán días en que no…. pero la vida no es color rosa en todo momento. Pero la clave es sentirte a gusto y ser agradecido con lo que tienes.
Escuche algo el otro día que me gustó muchísimo y que quiero que practiques todos los días: trátate a ti mismo como tratarías a alguien que amas.
Así que cada mañana, a partir de hoy, cuando te levantes y te veas en el espejo, abrázate, quiérete… dile a esa persona en el reflejo que es exactamente lo que siempre has buscado y que la amas con locura. Aprende a amarte a ti mismo y verás cómo se abrirán miles de puertas en tu vida, que siempre estuvieron ahí pero no te dabas el permiso de ver. Cuando aprendes a amarte a ti mismo comienzas a ver que tú eres perfecto para ti.
